Steven Andrews comes to Mission Prep with a passion for equity and access and a commitment to encouraging youth to develop their own self-efficacy. He believes in providing a restorative experience for his student’s by creating an environment that allows them to reimagine what academics looks and feels like. His academic profile highlights his life-long passion for studying the human mind and supporting people with best practices as they process learning and life experience. After earning a BA in Psychology from CSU Dominguez Hills and a Masters in Education, with a focus in SPED, from Chapman University, Steven has spent the past decade working with learners in diverse populations. He prides himself in being a fierce advocate for his students, an unconditional ally, and a firm believer that change and growth are always possible with a bit of persistence and empathetic understanding. Born and raised in Long Beach, California, he enjoys being outdoors, playing with his dog, reading, and eating burritos. He prides himself in being the proverbial 'Fun Uncle' to his two nephews and niece.
