Types of Therapies We Offer for Teens

We offer various types of therapy for teens, including evidence-based therapies and holistic healing methods. These therapeutic modalities include:

  • Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT): Focused on the connections between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to encourage healthy changes.
  • Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT): Designed to improve emotional regulation and distress tolerance.
  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR): A specialized therapy to help teens process trauma and develop healthier coping mechanisms.
  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy: A powerful and non-judgmental therapy approach to help teens explore and heal their inner emotional world.
  • Psychodynamic therapy: Offers a helpful approach to discover the underlying emotional patterns driving your teen’s behavior.
  • Accelerated resolution therapy: A short-term trauma therapy for adolescents that combines EMDR and Gestalt therapy techniques to produce rapid improvements.
  • Acceptance and commitment therapy: This teen therapy combines mindfulness, values-based action, and acceptance into a single, flexible model.
  • Narrative therapy: A form of counseling that helps adolescents separate their true identities from their struggles by viewing problems as external stories they can rewrite
  • Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy: A type of therapy that combines elements of mindfulness practices with cognitive behavioral therapy.
  • Somatic therapy: A body-based approach to heal from trauma and the conditions that often result from it.
  • Creative therapies: Art therapy and music therapy help teens express themselves using more than words.
  • Experiential therapies: Depending on the specific program and location, teens may participate in equine therapy, surf or skate therapy, nature and animal therapies, or therapeutic gardening.

Teen Mental Health Services We Provide

Mission Prep Teen Treatment offers a full range of mental health services for adolescents. This means we can ensure your teen receives the care, support, and treatment they require from the very first time you contact us through to their treatment, and even after they leave our care. This all-around support is what helps teens achieve long-term healing.

At Mission Prep Teen Treatment, we offer the following services:

Assessments

Our experienced team of mental health professionals provides comprehensive evaluations and diagnostic assessments. This includes a full psychological assessment to identify the underlying causes of your teen’s symptoms and to develop a personalized treatment plan based on their needs.

Treatments

A treatment plan will include details of the most appropriate therapies and clinicians for your teen’s personal treatment goals. Still, our treatment plans will always include the following core components:

  • Individual therapy: Dedicated one-on-one sessions tailored to your teen’s personal treatment goals
  • Psychiatric care: Teen psychiatric services, including ongoing reviews and medication management (when appropriate), to support your child’s mental health recovery
  • Family therapy: Families play an important role in an adolescent’s healing process, so we provide therapy to help improve relationships, communication, and support
  • Group therapy: Provides peer support, helps clients create healthy relationships and boundaries, and addresses the unique challenges of adolescence
  • Family support groups: A dedicated family support group for parents and guardians to help them safely and collaboratively navigate their child’s recovery

Case Management and Aftercare

The case management team ensures your child receives comprehensive, personalized, and continuous care throughout their treatment journey. The team also plans for your teen’s discharge, making sure that they continue to receive the support they may need (aftercare) once they leave our program.

Educational Support

Mission Prep Teen Treatment’s residential programs provide three hours of structured academic support each weekday. We are accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, which means our school support meets high educational quality standards.

Free Insurance Validation

We are in-network with many insurance providers, including HMOs, PPOs, and EAPs, and offer free online insurance validation.
