Aja Chavez, LPCC, LMFT, is the vice president of adolescent services at AMFM Healthcare. In her role, Aja provides national leadership for the organization’s adolescent residential programs, overseeing the Mission Prep service line and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, specialized care for adolescents and their families.
With over a decade of experience in behavioral health, Aja brings deep clinical expertise in working with youth and families navigating complex mental health challenges. Her background as both a licensed professional clinical counselor and licensed marriage and family therapist allows her to approach treatment through a comprehensive, systems-based lens, recognizing the critical role of family dynamics in adolescent healing.
Since beginning her career in 2012 as a residential and outpatient provider for adolescents, Aja has remained dedicated to supporting young people in crisis. She later founded a private practice focused on adolescent mental health, further expanding her experience in delivering individualized, evidence-based care. At AMFM Healthcare, she leads the development and implementation of adolescent programming, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure clinical integrity, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.
Aja earned a master’s degree in mental health counseling from California State University, Fullerton. She is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and is a strong advocate for trauma-informed, family-centered care. She is committed to creating safe, structured environments where adolescents can build resilience, strengthen relationships, and achieve lasting emotional well-being.
