Mission Prep Highlights the Importance of Therapy in Pediatric Mental Health Care

We are pleased to share that Mission Prep and our Director of Adolescent Services, Aja Chavez, were featured in a recent segment on Local 10 News titled, Study Focuses on Mental Health of Children. The segment, which aired during May’s Mental Health Awareness Month, discussed the increasing role of pediatricians in prescribing medications for children’s depression and anxiety. Aja emphasized the critical importance of complementing medication with therapeutic interventions. She stated, “The therapeutic component really helps us build in the insight, the awareness to why the struggle is showing up in the first place, and then building in new behaviors and ways to cope in this life that’s stressful.”

At Mission Prep, we are dedicated to providing comprehensive mental health services that address both the symptoms and underlying causes of mental health challenges in children and adolescents. Our approach integrates therapy with other interventions to equip young individuals with the tools they need to navigate life’s stresses effectively.
