Carlos Andres Diaz Gallardo earned a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in history, both from California State University, Long Beach. He currently serves as the Education Coordinator at Mission Prep in Rancho Palos Verdes, California. Carlos’s passion for education and social change was ignited during his studies, where he focused on the history of student activism in Latin America and the United States. He was particularly inspired by student-led movements that challenged traditional educational practices and advocated for greater diversity and adaptability throughout the 20th century. His personal experience with mental health struggles as a teenager and this passion for education reform led Carlos to Mission Prep Healthcare, an adolescent service that shares his belief in the importance of adaptive education and its significant role in promoting mental health. Carlos’s previous roles as Head College Writing Tutor and After-school Enrichment Program Manager demonstrated his dedication to creating inclusive learning environments. He has a proven track record of helping develop personalized workshops and programs that cater to the specific needs of underserved communities and individuals, making him an excellent fit for Mission Prep. In his free time, Carlos enjoys family time and reading history monographs.
