Ronnesha Black, M.A., AMFT, APCC, Doctoral Candidate in Applied Clinical Psychology, currently serves as Primary Therapist I at Harborview House. Prior to her role as Primary Therapist I, Ronnesha earned an Associate’s degree in Human Biology, a Bachelor’s in Sociology, and a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy with an emphasis in Professional Clinical Counseling. She has served in diverse clinical settings including outpatient community mental health and inpatient hospital care, with extensive experience working with DAPO, particularly with adolescents and adults in mandated treatment programs. Before entering the mental health field, Ronnesha completed two enlistments in the United States Navy, receiving an honorable discharge after serving in Florida, Virginia, and San Diego. Her military background instilled values of discipline, integrity, and service that continue to guide her clinical work. Clinically, she integrates evidence-based practices including Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Additionally, her experiences as a solo traveler to more than 40 countries have deepened her cultural humility and commitment to providing culturally competent care. Ronnesha views her path into this field as divinely guided and remains dedicated to supporting individuals and families in their healing, growth, and transformation.
