Teal Berkowitz

Therapist, CA
Teal Berkowitz is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who has been working with teens and families since 2012. Her passion for this work comes from her own mental health journey as a teenager, which has shaped her deep commitment to making sure adolescents feel seen, heard, and supported—especially during the times they need it most. Teal brings warmth, energy, and authenticity to her therapeutic relationships. She creates a space where teens feel safe to be themselves while learning how to navigate the challenges they face. Her clinical approach is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and supported by Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills. She also uses psychoeducation to help teens better understand their brains and behaviors, empowering them with tools for long-term growth. Teal is additionally trained in Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), allowing her to tailor treatment to meet each teen where they are. Teal loves being part of the team at Mission Prep, where treatment is about more than just clinical work—it’s also about letting teens be teens. She values creating space for joy, connection, and even fun, all while helping adolescents navigate their mental health and substance use challenges. She holds a bachelor’s degree from California Polytechnic University, Pomona, and earned her master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University.
